Weather forecasting now in Greenlight Grower Management

Users of Greenlight Grower Management from Muddy Boots ( www.muddyboots.com ) have always been able to manage their farm at the tap of a screen or the click of a mouse; but now, that up-to-the-minute decision making takes a leap forward thanks to the inclusion of highly accurate, advanced weather data.

Iteris, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITI), the global leader in applied informatics for transportation and agriculture, and Muddy Boots Software today announced the integration of ClearAg global weather information into the cloud-based Greenlight Grower Management System. Growers and Agronomists using Greenlight Grower Management will now be able to optimize decisions based upon current and forecasted field-level weather conditions to maximize yield, reduce risk, and to better understand where, when and how to protect crop production.

“We strive to provide our customers with state-of-the-art farm management solutions that allow precision environmental data access anywhere and in real-time,” said Paul Thomas, Business Development Manager, Muddy Boots. “ClearAg provides the best coverage and agronomic content available for our global users. Greenlight Grower Management customers will have a more in-depth insight from a weather standpoint, so they are better able to predict the ideal conditions for spraying in order to optimize yields and ensure best practice for their sustainable and traceable applications.”

Having this industry leading weather feed directly in Greenlight Grower Management not only offers users the best weather data available, it also enhances the ability for users to run their farm from the palm of their hand. Users are increasingly using the iPhone app version of Greenlight Grower Management and having weather data not only on their phone but also in the same app, only helps to streamline their work and speed up their processes.

“By being able to accurately predict near-term weather and soil conditions, growers can make more informed crop management decisions,” said John Lord, Manager for EMEA at Iteris. “The integration of ClearAg environmental insights will allow Muddy Boots customers to realize the full value of the Greenlight Grower Management software. With ClearAg, users will be able to better understand and anticipate the impacts of weather on crop production operations such as when to plant, when and where to apply chemical and fertilizer products, and how to best optimize labor and machinery resources.” This is the first of several exciting integrations to come in Greenlight Grower Management.
